EXISTING CONDITIONS

North Las Vegas
The City of North Las Vegas occupies approximately 82 square miles and is located three miles north of the City of Las Vegas in Clark County, Nevada

Population and Growth
The City is currently home to approximately 178,000 residents, a number that has been growing quickly since the mid-1990s. While the Las Vegas Valley is one of the fastest growing areas in the country with an annual growth rate of around 7%, North Las Vegas has recently been outpacing the rest of the valley, with an annual growth rate of 11%. While this growth rate is expected to moderate slightly in the future, the city will continue to grow and expand rapidly as long as it has land available for development.

Land Use Patterns
Land use patterns in the city's developed areas are summarized below. While roughly half of the land in the city remains currently undeveloped, half of this vacant land, or one quarter of the city's total land area, is BLM land not yet released for development. BLM land auctions will be a major factor in the future development of the city.

Community Services and Amenities
The city has numerous parks, services, and other amenities enjoyed by its residents. As the city grows, it will be important to safeguard a strong level of service in the school, police, fire, and transportation services and infrastructure to meet the needs of an expanding population.
